‘Networking at it’s best’’
Nicholas Parker’s Story
Senior Land & Development Manager at Meridian Water
Nick came to a YADA Speed Mentoring event at London Build Forum in November 2023 and met Yemi Aladerun, Head of Development at Meridian Water in Enfield.
Nick came to the event on a mission – to connect with senior people from the industry and to see if he could take home some practical advice about advancing his career.
Busy, as most young people are in our sector, he hot-footed it from his office to Olympia in his lunch break, didn’t come with a ticket and talked his way into the event. He lasered into Yemi, who he had admired for a while, and asked if he could stay in touch with her.
In April 2024 he accepted a job as Development Manager in Yemi’s team and 3 months later was promoted to Senior Land and Development Manager. Confidence, tenacity, initiative and talent. A great combination. “Your event truly encapsulated what I think of as networking at its best,” he said.
